Code of conduct

At Akoya, we are dedicated to nurturing a secure, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. Our priority is to ensure an experience free from harassment, regardless of gender identities, sexual orientations, ethnicities, races, socio-economic backgrounds, levels of experience, ages, abilities, religions, national origins, or any other aspects of identity.

Our commitment is reflected in our Code of Conduct, where we maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of harassment.

This Code of Conduct applies to all spaces within the Akoya Developer Community, including online forums, chat platforms, events, and any other interactions associated with our community. By actively engaging in the Akoya Developer Community, you demonstrate your agreement to adhere to this Code of Conduct. Violations of these guidelines may result in penalties or expulsion from the community, as determined by our vigilant community moderators.

Behavior

Harassment encompasses various behaviors, including but not limited to:

  1. Using discriminatory language or engaging in actions based on gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, physical appearance, body size, age, race, or religion.
  2. Engaging in trolling, insults, or personal attacks.
  3. Sharing violent or personally objectifying material.
  4. Posting inappropriate or off-topic sexual images.
  5. Displaying unwelcome sexual attention or making advances without consent or after a request to stop.
  6. Engaging in physical contact or simulated physical contact without consent or beyond the point of comfort.
  7. Employing violent language or making threats of violence.
  8. Inciting violence towards any individual, including encouraging self-harm.
  9. Making unwelcome comments about a person's lifestyle choices and practices.
  10. Intentionally misgendering individuals or utilizing "dead" or rejected names.
  11. Persisting in one-on-one communication after being asked to cease.
  12. Deliberately revealing aspects of a person's identity without their consent.
  13. Engaging in "doxxing," which involves threatening or posting personally identifiable information without consent.
  14. Publishing private communication without consent.
  15. Using blogging, tweeting, or other means of communication to harm someone's reputation.
  16. Engaging in intimidation, stalking, or following.
  17. Participating in harassing or unwanted photography or recording, including the logging of online activity for harassment purposes.
  18. Maintaining a sustained pattern of uninvited disruption.
  19. Demonstrating any other behavior that could reasonably be deemed inappropriate in a professional setting.
  20. Advocating for or encouraging any of the behaviors listed above.

Appropriate behavior fosters a healthy and supportive Akoya Developer Community, and includes:

  1. Actively participating in discussions with authenticity and empathy.
  2. Representing the Akoya Developer Community in a positive and professional manner.
  3. Utilizing inclusive and respectful language.
  4. Demonstrating consideration and respect in both speech and actions.
  5. Avoiding any form of demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior or speech.
  6. Remaining aware of your surroundings and fellow participants.
  7. Prioritizing the well-being of the community.
  8. Promptly notifying community moderators in the event of witnessing a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct.
  9. Exhibiting behavior consistent with professional standards.
  10. Recognizing that community events may include members of the public and treating all with respect.
  11. Approaching discussions with an open mind, refraining from making assumptions about others.
  12. Encouraging collaboration over conflict in all interactions.
  13. Gracefully accepting constructive criticism.

Enforcement

Participants must comply if asked to cease engaging in harassing behavior. Violations of the Code of Conduct may lead to appropriate action by the Akoya Developer Community, including removal from events or online spaces in Akoya’s sole discretion. Event organizers may take necessary steps to address disruptions or the creation of a hostile environment.

All participants are expected to respect and abide by the Code of Conduct in all interactions within the Akoya Developer Community.

If you experience or witness violations of the Code of Conduct or have any concerns, please promptly report them by:
